Aluminium Oxide
Aluminium oxide (Al2O3), also known as alumina, is a standard substrate material at a very good price/performance ratio. It is known as workhorse of advanced ceramics and for its wide range of properties, including good chemical inertness, high electrical resisitivity, wear and corrosion resistance and relatively high strength.
The excellent and dielectric thermal shock properties make it a perfect choice as insultaning material, such as hyper frequency resonators (mobile phones), applications for television, satellite transmitter tubes, microwave devices as well as microelectronic substrates and jumper chips.
Aluminium oxide from Mintres is available double side polished to high surface qualities and flatness. Mintres applies both high precision microdicing and laser cutting processes to shape this material. A wide range of thin film metallizations is available including basic Ti/Pt/Au and AuSn materials for advanced soldering needs.
